Can I still join the class if I’m late?

You will not be allowed to join the class if you are more than 10 minutes late.

For non-students, which classes can we attend on the schedule?

For all regular packages (not the Student/NSF packages or Cardio-Muay Thai packages), you can attend ANY and ALL classes scehduled. The class schedule is published under the Schedule page.

For Student/NSF packages, you can only attend the classes highlighted as Student/NSF Classes. Basically, this means you can attend ALL classes except the 6.45PM and 8.15PM class on weekdays. If you have an existing Student/NSF package and wish to join the later weekday classes, you can attend by paying the special drop in rate of $18 per class. You can attend all weekend classes.

For Unlimited Cardio Kickboxing packages, you can only attend any Cardio Kickboxing classes (weekdays 12.15PM and 1PM).

I am a University student, and I can’t make the afternoon classes on weekdays. Can I join the evening classes?

You have 2 options:

1. Sign up for a Student/NSF package which is substantially cheaper which entitles you to come on weekends too, and pay the $18 drop in rate for the 6.45PM and 8.15PM classes on weekdays.

2. Sign up for the regular package (which entitles you to come for any class) and you will get 10% student discount.

If I sign up for a monthly package in the middle of the month, will it expire at the end of the month?

It expires 1 month from the date you sign up. So if you signed up on 21st July, it will expire the following month on 20th August.

I am a beginner. Can I sign up for your classes and what should I wear?

Yes you can! We heartily welcome beginners. Part of the purpose of setting up this gym was to spread interest in these martial arts. If you don’t have any specialised attire, you can just wear a T-shirt and shorts. Remember, for Muay Thai and MMA, you will need to kick, so make sure your shorts are flexible enough.

For MMA and BJJ, there will be grappling, so make sure your clothing fits securely!

Finally, whatever clothes you choose to wear, be prepared to really sweat a LOT in them!

I’m under 18, can I still join the classes?

If you are under the age of 18, please download and print out the Parental Consent Form that must be signed (by a parent/guardian) and submitted when you come down to the gym, otherwise you will not be allowed to register or join the classes.

Are the classes safe and is there sparring?

While there is risk in any sporting activity, our policy is safety-first. So long as you comply with the rules of the gym and the instructions of the trainers, the training is very safe. Very serious injuries are almost non-existent in our gym. We have a very respectful and friendly training environment.

Light to full contact sparring is not done until students have reached a higher level. Beginners may from time to time practise ‘touch sparring’ where you use light taps instead of strikes. This is a drill just to train up one’s distancing, timing and footwork and is completely safe.

What free gifts do I get with the packages?

You can get the free gifts if you are joining Impact MMA for the first time. For 3, 6, 12-month regular or 4-month Student/NSF packages, you can choose ONE of the following:

• Training/Boxing Gloves OR
• Mixed Martial Arts Gloves OR
• Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Rashguard OR
• 25%-off on a purchase of Gi

All gifts are subject to availability of stock. If items are backordered, we can issue the gifts when new stock arrives.

Do I have to pay up front for the packages?

Yes, all packages have to be paid in advance.

I am a part-time student, do I qualify for the Student/NSF package?

No, the student/NSF packages are for full-time Students and full-time National Servicemen only.

If I travel, can my membership be temporarily suspended?

Yes, if you are away for more than 7 days at a time and your package has not been expired for more than 2 months. You will need to show us evidence of travel in your passport. Furthermore, your membership cannot be suspended for a combined duration of more than 2 months per package.

I note that the personal training prices are for packages of 8, what if I want to pay per session?

If you are just starting out, we are happy to let you try a few sessions at the same price without purchasing the package of 8 sessions. However, if you wish to pay per class in the long run, it costs roughly 15% more.

Is there a difference between trainers for Student/NSF classes and Adult classes?

No. All our trainers are on rotation for both Student/NSF classes and Adult classes.

What is the trainer/student ratio like?

For group classes, the student trainer ratio is about 10 to 12 students per trainer.

These rules apply to anyone who uses the gym’s facilities. The following rules are put in place to ensure a safe and comfortable training environment for everybody. We would be grateful if you would take the time to read them. The Gym rules constitute part of your license to use the gym.

Dear Members,
As many of you are now aware, the latest Covid government measures require that all non-essential businesses will have to suspend operations (at both Shenton House and JTC Summit).
As such, our last day of operations will be on Monday, 6 April 2020. The suspension will tenatively continue until and including 4 May 2020.
If the suspensions are not extended, we hope to re-open for business on 5 May 2020.

Whilst we will miss training with all of you, we are wholly supportive of these measures for the greater good.

We are all in this together and we shall prevail!
Stay healthy and see you all soon!

7. We urge all to comply with “stay at home” notices or any other order or recommendation of a similar nature (such as quarantine orders, leave of absence or even a medical practitioner’s recommendation) relating to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Please note that if you have to avoid visiting the gym for such reasons, we will be happy to extend your membership package so you do not feel you are losing out by complying.

All you have to do is send us written evidence of any such order or recommendation which shows the period for which you should abstain from visiting the gym before the expiry of such period.
If the documents are in order, we will extend your membership to cover the recommended period of absence.

We regret that all open mat sessions (including those at 1.15pm to 3.30pm) will be suspended until further notice. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused! However, we are working to minimise the density of people attending at our premises. As such, ad-hoc and open mat sessions will be suspended for the time being as a part of our risk management strategy. Only regular classes (as set out in our class schedule) will remain in operation.

Dear Members, we have taken on board various advisories issued by the government and the relevant statutory boards in relation to the ongoing Covid-19 situation. There will be significant changes to our operations and the conduct of classes in this period. We do apologise for any inconvenience caused and we hope that you understand that the changes are necessary in the current climate for safety of our members and the population at large. We also hope to maintain the government’s trust in sports gyms in the hope that there will be no decision to curtail or even suspend the operation of sports gyms in Singapore.
